On Canada we fire up fireworks. Here in Ottawa, they actually celebrate it and it felt weird since I come from Quebec and people are still recuperating from Sain-Jean's Eve. One way they use to celebrate this is with fireworks and pretty little lights.

I don't consider it art because most of the people who use them don't really care about creating art, but mostly care about having fun and explosions. Because explosions are amazing and attractive like on the movies we watch today. Now, there are some situation in which the explosions are coordinated with music or people actually try to create a beautiful image for people to admire in the dark of the night. Personally, fireworks are really lame and it's a waste of money.

Should you go outside and look at fireworks? I believe that it is a good pastime with friends and can transform a night into a magical night. I know it contradicts what I said  a couple of lines ago, but I didn't write the whole post the same day so my opinion changed slightly.

All in all, have a good Canada Day and blow up as many fireworks as you want. I would because fireworks are illegal in Quebec so it's hard to have access to them. Not too many though, I don't have that kind of money to waste on such silly things unless I feel crazy enough to do something amazing like creating a fireball and find a way to make it appear as if it was coming out of my hands.
